  • Nuclear Waste Management Organization

    The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is responsible for designing and implementing Canada's plan for the safe, long-term management of used nuclear fuel. The plan, known as Adaptive Phased Management, requires used fuel to be contained and isolated in a deep geological repository. It also calls for a comprehensive process to select a site with informed and willing hosts for the project.

  • Nagra

    The task assigned to Nagra by the Swiss waste producers is to prepare and implement solutions for waste management and disposal that ensure the long-term safety of man and the environment.

  • NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL CANADA (NRC) - BOUCHERVILLE

    The NRC Boucherville facility offers R&D activities dedicated to the aerospace sector: 
    • Development of non-destructive inspection technologies for inspection, material characterization, defect detection and evaluation of the composition and microstructure of materials used in aircraft. 

  • Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada

    NSERC aims to make Canada a country of discoverers and innovators for the benefit of all Canadians. The agency supports university students in their advanced studies, promotes and supports discovery research, and fosters innovation by encouraging Canadian companies to participate and invest in postsecondary research projects. NSERC researchers are on the vanguard of science, building on Canada's long tradition of scientific excellence.

  • Ontario Research Fund

    The Ontario Research Fund provides research institutions with funding to support the operational costs of major projects of strategic value to the province.

    The fund provides up to one-third of the total value of a project, with the remaining two-thirds coming from a combination of the private sector and institutional contributions.

    Posiva Oy is an expert organisation responsible for the final disposal of spent nuclear fuel of the owners. Posiva has been established in 1995. 

  • Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company

    SKB, Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company, is tasked with managing Swedish nuclear and radioactive waste in a safe way. In 2009 we selected a site for the Spent Fuel Repository and in 2011 we submitted the applications to build the repository in Forsmark.
